Two ways to get new pipe into the ground without a trench from the house to the street, and one check that decides which.
The line is inspected before anything is quoted. Alignment, grade, and the condition of the host pipe decide whether trenchless is possible at all.
A bursting head fractures the old pipe outward and pulls the new one into the same path behind it. Full replacement through two small access pits.

Used when the old path cannot be reused. A mole drives a new bore on a fresh route, around a foundation footing, a mature tree, or a section that has collapsed entirely.

Replace the Line Without Digging Up the Yard
Open excavation means a trench running from the foundation to the street. Days of work, a lawn that has to be rebuilt, and a driveway that never quite matches again. Trenchless work replaces the same pipe through an access pit at each end, so everything between them stays where it is.
Not every line qualifies. A pipe that has collapsed, dropped out of grade, or separated at the joints cannot be burst, and we say so rather than sell the method. Where the problem is not the method but the whole system, that scope is sewer line replacement.

How do you know the line can be burst?
The camera decides. We look at alignment, grade, and how the joints are holding. A pipe that is cracked or root-invaded but still running a straight, consistent line is a good candidate. One that has collapsed, dropped out of grade, or separated at a joint is not, because the bursting head needs a continuous path to follow.
What happens to the old pipe?
It stays in the ground. The bursting head pushes it outward into the surrounding soil and the new pipe takes the space it leaves behind. Nothing is hauled away because nothing is dug up, and that is where most of the time savings come from.
How much of the yard gets opened?
Two pits, one at each end of the run. Everything between them is untouched. The pits are backfilled, compacted, and restored once the pull is finished.
