Main Water Line Install Options for Bay Area Properties

One pipe does all the work: it carries everything from the municipal meter to your home. Getting the size, material, and routing right at installation determines pressure, flow, and reliability for every fixture and appliance on the property.

Underground copper service line from the municipal meter connection to a new home, new build, or property that currently has no service line. Sized correctly for the structure from the start.

Dedicated main water line for an ADU requiring its own meter and separate service connection. Coordinated with the utility and permitted through the city.

Full replacement of existing galvanized, polybutylene, or corroded service lines that are causing low pressure, discoloration, or repeated leaks. Trench or trenchless, depending on site conditions.

What We Do

New Build or Replacing a Failing Line? Start With the Right Pipe.

Installing a main water line is an underground job with consequences that last decades. The line you put in determines water pressure and flow capacity for every fixture on the property, and replacing it later means digging up the yard again. Getting it right the first time matters.

We install copper as our default material. Copper lasts 50 or more years in Bay Area soil conditions, resists the scale buildup caused by hard South Bay water (7 to 19 GPG), and meets all local code requirements. For specific site conditions, we also work with PEX. We do not use materials that will require replacement in ten years.

Bay Area properties present real underground challenges: Vertisol clay that expands and shifts with seasonal moisture, rocky terrain in hillside areas, and setbacks that determine routing options. Our licensed plumbers assess the site before we quote, confirm the correct pipe diameter for the structure, and route the line to avoid conflicts with existing utilities and landscaping.

We handle the complete scope with no subcontracting on core work. That includes utility locating, permit procurement, trenching or trenchless installation, municipal supply connection, final inspection, and site restoration.

About Us

Main Water Line Work Requires the Right Underground Experience

Connecting a property to the municipal supply is not the same job as fixing a leak inside the house. It involves utility coordination, excavation, soil assessment, municipal inspection, and sometimes rerouting around existing infrastructure. We have done this work across Bay Area soil types: expansive Vertisol clay in the South Bay, sandy fill in low-lying areas, and rocky ground in hillside neighborhoods.

Our licensed plumbers pull the permits, coordinate with the utility, handle the underground work with our own crew and equipment, and manage the inspection walkthrough. No subcontracting on core work means one point of contact from first dig to final sign-off.
